The B3157 Dorset Jurassic Coast Road is a strikingly scenic coastal road. From Weymouth to Bridport it follows the 18 mile long Chesil Bank (with Fleet Lagoon) offering breathtaking, high vantage-point views of coast and countryside.

The X53 Jurassic Coast bus runs from Poole to Exeter but the B3157 is by far the best bit of the whole route as far as coastal scenery goes. You’ll go past villages like Portesham, Abbotsbury, West Bexington, Burton Bradstock, West Bay & the town of Bridport. Charmouth and Golden Cap are visible towards Lyme Regis.

For motorists and cyclists, this is the best view of the Jurassic Coast to be had by road anywhere along its 96 mile length despite its twists and turns, blind bends and hidden dips.
